About The Ordered Steps ministry

THE STORY BEHIND THE ORDERED STEPS MINISTRY
by Eugene Wong

The Ordered Steps ministry developed from a vision that God gave me in 1989. The vision then was merely a burden for the nation of India. It wasn’t until 1993 that God brought further clarity concerning the vision by orchestrating a trip to travel to the land of India. This trip was part of my Discipleship Training School with YWAM. While I was there, the love for the nation and the people grew. Yet, I still had no idea as to what the complete picture was to be.

It was only later in New Zealand, while pursuing my B. Commerce degree that I had an opportunity to listen to a speaker who was working with children in India that something stirred deep down in my heart. I remember asking God that day, “Is that Your call for me? Working with children in India?” I distinctly remember Him saying, “Yes, but that’s not all.” I was excited about the prospect of going back to India again, but had also learnt to be less anxious about the entire process. God said that there would be more, and I waited.

I returned to Malaysia after the successful completion of my degree, and began working for an international financial institution. At about this time, God spoke to me again about the vision of India. I was sitting down in my home when the Lord brought a vivid picture to me. I saw children; then the next scene saw me working with computers; and the next scene was a school-cum-shelter. Again, I was excited but now a little confused. All I could do was to believe that God would speak again to bring clarity concerning the vision.

That clarity has gained momentum. Today, The Ordered Steps ministry has its focus based on what I believe God has set in my heart to do. Read on to see what it is all about.
